What is WildWoods Wonderland?
This is an amazing learning experience for kids to be inspired, grow and explore in our outdoor & indoor classrooms, to use all their senses to observe, and walk through many different subject matters & lessons that we will journey through together.
We are located at a licensed family child care home, in Fillmore, CA. The class size is smaller with a ratio of up to 8 children, to 1 teacher, allowing for more individual time, and instruction. Our capacity is 12 children total.
Children are encouraged to learn at their own pace, with guidance and structure. There are so many fun ways to teach where kids get to be hands on and instinctively intrigued while interacting with what they are learning, that learning will just naturally happen. We are made to explore, to seek out, to ask questions, and to problem solve. In an environment where these are encouraged, and creatively prompted, the adventure of learning has no limit.
This is where young minds are encouraged. This is where we take the time to create. This is where questions are asked, pondered, and answered. This is where friendships are made.
Hello! I am Judy, and I absolutely love kids!
I am a child enthusiast, a nature explorer, and an avid adventure seeker. I love creating fun environments for kids to creatively seek out and learn as they explore. This is a huge passion for me, and watching little ones grow as they discover is one of my greatest joys.
Incorporating nature into learning, and inspiring the love of the beauty of the natural world around us, including all the wonder it brings, is a gift to be encouraged and given to all learners from the youngest child to all adults.
From 2000 – 2015, I owned & taught at my full time California licensed small family child care from my home in our wonderful community of Fillmore, CA.
During that time I was a single mom to two amazing children, and over the years many little friends came over, explored & grew here right along with us. Some of those friends spent many years here, and to this day, even when they are currently in college on the opposite side of the country, we have maintained close friendships, that of a family! I love it, as I pour love into all the kids that come to learn with me. I am now married & I have expanded to a large family child care home. I have two lovely assistants that are part of the team.
Along with owning & operating my licensed childcare for over 15 years, I have previous work experience at a preschool, at an elementary school with children with various special needs, and as an elementary department manager at a church in Los Angeles.
I am happy to be currently offering Nature Preschool classes through the school year & weekly Summer Adventure Camps out of my licensed child care home. LIC#566207538
I am Red Cross certified in infant & pediatric first aid & CPR. In the last several years I have been furthering my formal education at Ventura College pursuing a degree in Liberal Studies.
I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you & your little ones as we explore together!
